Rocket Launching Pad - Nomura
Unfamiliar to most collectors is this Rare Version of the Two Stage Rocket Launching Pad simply called "Rocket Launching Pad: It is overall green and with its lithography entirely different from the former version. Rather than illustrating what is on the outside of the launch pad, it uses three of its sides to depict the wonders of space, with planets and rockets set against the dark cosmos.
The toy comes with both its original rockets which you insert into the chute to get the process started. (to put as little of wear and tear on the rockets, I use a long pencil
until the catch engages and then drop the rocket into the chute). A series of beeps can be heard and lights glow at the base, while the man at the controls slowly pushes the lever up with his left arm.
The beeps come closer together until, finally, BLAST OFF! - the rocket is shot up through the air.
I imagine that the monitor screen should light up and the man's right arm should move, but they don't and may require some further looking into. The overall condition of the toy is excellent. (Both versions and their unique box is illustrated on the Alphadrome website)
