    Radical Robot, Yoshiya, Japan, 1955:
Now offered for auction:   Radical Robot, made by Yoshiya, Japan, 1955.  This very rare and desirable metal Robot from the Golden Era of Robots is battery operated (2 D batteries).  Sporting painted blue tinplate, this skirted robot with mystery action, when activated, travels forward along a flat surface, arms swinging at its sides, dome on head illuminates and robot emits a loud clicking sound.  It stops and turns its head from side to side while the antennae spin, dome on head blinks, then it returns to mystery action, repeating the sequence in three modes.  Reportedly one of the most complex sets of actions in a vintage tin toy robot.  This is the rarest variation of the Chief Robot Man series.  Very nice condition. Paint shows very well, just a few scratches overall and almost zero paint loss, even around the base, where it would be expected.  The two red upper chest piece are slightly mismatched for color (apparently this was a common trait in the series).  This robot was obviously not played with much, if at all.  Buyer pays shipping and insurance is required.  Good luck bidders!  Please check our other auctions for more robots and other cool collectibles.
