"I have always heard that art is a personal thing, and I agree completely. Each painting is a new experience and expresses a different perspective of nature. It is a little window that brings life to my work. There are times when I will struggle to find that special little spark that tells me I'm through and can put down my paintbrush, knowing that the painting is complete."
Paula has been exhibiting professionally since 1982. She received her B.S. from Appalachin State University in Boone, North Carolina and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. After teaching for twelve years, Paula decided to make a change in her career. This decision brought about a complete lifestyle change for her and her husband, Jim.
Wildlife has been the most prominent feature in Paula's artwork for many years. Her love of the outdoors and animals has promoted Paula's active involvement with many non-profit and wildlife organizations, including the donation of her watercolors, prints and time to support the protection of our resources. Paula is a Ducks Unlimited Life Sponsor.
